What We Believe

Our Biblical Foundation

At Grace & Fire Publishing, what we publish flows from what we believe.

We believe the Bible is God’s Word, Jesus Christ is Lord, salvation is found through Him, and the Christian life is meant to be one of growing faith, obedience, discipleship, and transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Our books address many subjects—spiritual growth, marriage, parenting, men, women, apologetics, relationships, and Christian living—but Scripture remains our foundation and Jesus Christ remains at the center.

The following beliefs provide the theological foundation for the books and resources we publish.

01 · We BelieveThe Bible

We believe the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, trustworthy and authoritative for Christian faith and life. Scripture reveals who God is, His plan of redemption, how we are to live, and ultimately points us to Jesus Christ.

Because Scripture is our authority, we seek to understand biblical passages in their proper context rather than using isolated verses merely to support our own ideas.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”

— 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)

02 · We BelieveGod

We believe there is one true God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three Persons, one God.

God is holy, loving, just, merciful, sovereign, faithful, and worthy of all worship. He created all things and continues to sustain His creation according to His wisdom and purposes.

03 · We BelieveJesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, willingly died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and physically rose from the dead.

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus accomplished what we could never accomplish for ourselves.

He is Savior and Lord, and salvation is found in Him alone.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

— John 14:6 (NIV)

We believe Jesus ascended to the Father and will personally return.

04 · We BelieveHumanity and Sin

We believe every person is created in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity, worth, and value.

We also believe humanity has been separated from God through sin. Every person has sinned and falls short of God’s holiness. Sin affects our relationship with God, ourselves, other people, and the world around us.

We cannot rescue ourselves through morality, religious activity, good intentions, or human effort.

We need a Savior.

05 · We BelieveSalvation

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in Jesus Christ.

We are not saved by good works, religious performance, church attendance, or our ability to make ourselves worthy before God. Jesus Christ paid the price for our sin through His death and resurrection.

Those who repent and place their faith in Christ receive forgiveness and reconciliation with God and are given new life in Him.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”

— Ephesians 2:8–9 (NIV)

Good works do not earn salvation; rather, a transformed life and good works should increasingly flow from a genuine relationship with Christ.

06 · We BelieveThe Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively works in the lives of believers.

The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, gives new life, indwells believers, guides us into truth, equips us for service, strengthens us to resist sin, and works within us to develop Christlike character.

Christian transformation cannot be accomplished through willpower alone. We are called to walk by the Spirit and depend upon His work within us.

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

— Galatians 5:25 (NIV)

07 · We BelieveGrowing in Christ

We believe salvation is the beginning of the Christian journey, not the end of it.

Followers of Jesus are called to grow in spiritual maturity, renew their minds through God’s Word, turn away from sin, develop Christlike character, love God and others, serve faithfully, and become increasingly like Jesus.

This process of spiritual growth continues throughout the believer’s life.

We do not become more like Christ in order to earn God’s love or salvation. We grow because we have been saved by grace and now belong to Him.

08 · We BelieveThe Church

We believe all who place their faith in Jesus Christ become part of the body of Christ.

The local church plays an essential role in Christian life through biblical teaching, worship, fellowship, prayer, communion, baptism, discipleship, service, accountability, and mission.

Books can encourage discipleship, but books are not a replacement for Scripture, prayer, Christian community, or participation in a faithful local church.

Grace & Fire resources are intended to support those things, not replace them.

09 · We BelieveMarriage and Family

We believe marriage was designed by God as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman, reflecting faithfulness, sacrificial love, commitment, and mutual responsibility.

Husbands and wives are called to love, honor, serve, forgive, encourage, and remain faithful to one another while keeping Christ at the center of their marriage.

We believe parents carry a significant responsibility to intentionally teach and demonstrate biblical faith to their children. Christian parenting involves more than producing good behavior; it involves discipling hearts and helping children develop a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ.

Families are imperfect, and many people carry wounds from broken marriages, divorce, absent parents, or difficult family circumstances. God’s grace, forgiveness, redemption, and restoration remain central to how we approach these realities.

10 · We BelieveMen and Women

We believe men and women are equally created in the image of God, equally valuable before God, equally in need of salvation, and equally invited to follow Christ and participate in His mission.

We also believe Scripture provides meaningful instruction for men and women concerning character, relationships, marriage, family, leadership, service, responsibility, and Christian maturity.

Our goal is not to build biblical manhood or womanhood around cultural stereotypes, but to continually return to Scripture and ask what it means to faithfully follow Christ as the men and women God created us to be.

11 · We BelieveSpiritual Warfare

We believe Scripture teaches that spiritual evil is real, Satan is real, and Christians face spiritual opposition.

At the same time, our focus is not fear, fascination with darkness, or attributing every difficulty to demonic activity. Our confidence is in Jesus Christ and His victory.

Believers are called to remain alert, resist the devil, reject deception, stand firmly in biblical truth, pray, pursue holiness, and put on the full armor of God.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”

— Ephesians 6:10 (NIV)

Christ—not the enemy—remains the focus.

12 · We BelieveThe Christian Mission

We believe followers of Jesus are called to make disciples.

Christianity is not intended to stop with our own salvation or spiritual growth. We are called to share the gospel, teach God’s truth, serve others, demonstrate Christ’s love, and help others learn to follow Jesus.

This responsibility begins wherever God has placed us—in our homes, marriages, families, churches, workplaces, friendships, communities, and beyond.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations...”

— Matthew 28:19 (NIV)

13 · We BelieveEternity and the Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will return, God will ultimately judge evil, and His redemptive purposes will be fully accomplished.

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and eternal life with God for those who belong to Christ.

This future hope should influence how Christians live today—with faithfulness, courage, humility, urgency, and confidence in God’s promises.

Conviction and Humility

Grace and Truth

These beliefs are more than theological statements to us. They shape what we publish and how we approach difficult subjects.

We will strive to remain faithful to Scripture while recognizing that sincere Christians sometimes disagree about secondary theological matters. Grace & Fire Publishing does not exist to promote a particular denominational tradition or unnecessarily divide Christians over every secondary issue.

On the essential truths of the Christian faith, however, we believe clarity matters.

We want to approach biblical truth with both conviction and humility.

Grace without compromising truth.

Truth communicated with grace.

Pointing Beyond Ourselves

Why What We Believe Matters

Every Grace & Fire book should ultimately point beyond the author and beyond the publisher.

Our desire is that readers don’t simply know more when they finish one of our books, but that they are encouraged to know Christ more deeply, trust God’s Word more completely, live their faith more faithfully, and help others do the same.

  • Toward Scripture.
  • Toward spiritual maturity.
  • Toward faithful Christian living.
  • And above all, toward Jesus Christ.

Grace That Restores. Truth That Transforms.
